ROBERT ROULSTON

During my time as an Investment Banker I developed a finance and tax structuring business for Thoroughbred Breeding and Racing Ventures and specialized in importing prominent broodmares to Australia. These included several mares who have since developed significant breeding dynasties in Australia, including Dancing Show (the Redoute’s Choice family) and Affluent (the Alinghi family).

With my move to a fulltime Bloodstock Consultancy in late 1987 I developed an international bloodstock consultancy business around a select group of high profile clients. Since 1987 I have been active in all international markets, in particular, Kentucky (USA), Tattersalls at Newmarket (UK), Goffs (Ireland) and Arqana at Deauville (France), particularly through the importation of broodmares to bolster the Australian gene pool and provide access to international bloodlines.

For many years I also participated in the stallion market, importing and standing myself at various studs several international “shuttle” stallions, as well as brokering the sale of many local stallions to prominent Australia Studs.

Since 1987 I have also been active in all yearling markets in Australia and have purchased Group One winners in the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, USA, Australia and New Zealand, including the winner of the 150th Melbourne Cup, Americain.

Also since 1987 I have been actively involved in the sale of horses to the Asian market and I have several high profile Hong Kong based clients.

At January 1st 2017 I accepted the position as CEO of Rifa Mustang Pty Ltd and at July 1st 2018 the role was expanded to include responsibility for Rifa Mustang Europe Limited.
